My Journey: Hi, I'm Lusine. About 8 years ago, when I was still working in the corporate world, I began having stomach aches from pretty much everything I ate. I couldn’t really figure out what triggered them, so I ignored the pains and learned to live with them. Eventually my stomach aches were replaced by gas and bloating. That led to other health conditions, such as skin breakouts and food sensitivities.

My Journey: Hi, I'm Lusine. About 8 years ago, when I was still working in the corporate world, I began having stomach aches from pretty much everything I ate. I couldn’t really figure out what triggered them, so I ignored the pains and learned to live with them. Eventually my stomach aches were replaced by gas and bloating. That led to other health conditions, such as skin breakouts and food sensitivities.
I became too self-conscious in my
own body. Because of bloating my jeans wouldn’t fit and my shirts would rise up
over my belly. I would wear loose clothes to hide my bloated tummy. On a few
occasions men even offered me a seat on the bus thinking I was pregnant. Over
time, I developed dry patches on my skin and itchy red eyes. I would joke about
it saying that ‘I slept on my eye again’. I was experiencing heavy painful
periods. My condition started to really affect not just my health, but also my
body image, my social life and my self-confidence. It took me years to finally
say THAT’S IT! I need a fix.
This is partly what led me to study
Holistic Nutrition. I signed up with the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition
in Toronto, and began my journey of exploring the healing properties of food
and lifestyle. I wanted to understand what was happening in my body and learn
to heal naturally. As I learned new things I began implementing them in my own
life. I started seeing big shifts in my health. I worked with amazing holistic
practitioners who have helped me reverse my health issues and get rid of not
just my tummy bloat and abdominal weight, but all other conditions that
developed from the imbalance in my gut. It is amazing how powerful food can be
when used in the right way. Within a few weeks I began feeling lighter, more
energized and more confident. My bloating went away, my period regulated
itself, I have not had itchy eyes since, and I could finally say good bye to my
skin breakouts that I had been living with for years.
Throughout my journey I have come
across many women who have also been struggling with body image. Most are frustrated
with the inability to lose weight. But deep inside on a subconscious level, what
they’re really looking for is not just weight-loss, but the ability to love and
accept their body and to look & feel fabulous in their own skin. This is
what inspired me to do what I do now.
Who am I: As a Lifestyle Makeover Mentor I’m like the
nourishing soil that lays foundation for flowers to blossom. When clients come
to see me, we go through a thorough questionnaire to assess their current
lifestyle, eating habits and medical history. Then we dive deep into the root
cause of their concerns and create a realistic plan that suits their lifestyle
and wellness goals. As a Holistic Nutritionist I rip-off the unrealistic weight
loss band-aid mentality and address the conditions that lie beneath my client’s
challenges.
The inability to lose weight can stem from many underlying
conditions. In fact, research shows that 97% of women have an ‘I hate my body’
moment every single day. So many women begin over-exercising, and under-eating
in hopes of losing weight and fitting into the ‘body-image norm’ that is
seemingly acceptable in our society.
With my program weight-loss will occur slowly, but
steadily; and it will stick. Keep in mind, “weight-loss is just the side effect
of healthy habits”. Therefore, once you shift your habits and embrace a
lifestyle full of healthy foods, a positive mindset and enjoyable activities,
the weight will come off and stay off.

through yo-yo dieting, trimming your waistline, and building consistency and
confidence. And what I'm really passionate about is inspiring women to look and
feel fabulous from inside out.
